OneUI 7 major changes and release schedule
Before we get to the latest on the Galaxy S25 series, we’d like to give you a quick update on One UI 7. This OneUI 7 was supposed to be in beta testing since last August, but Google hasn’t released the official version of Android 15 yet, and the beta testing is still not going on because it’s currently buggy. First of all, we started rolling out the One 6.1.1 update to S24 series devices in Korea yesterday, and OneUI 7 should be announced at the SDC 2024 developer forum in October anyway, so I personally think that we will definitely beta test it in September.
OneUI 7 has the most changes to look forward to
According to IT leaker Iceunivers, OneUI 7 will have the most changes in its history, with MX division president Tae-moon Noh overseeing the development of OneUI 7 himself. The company is said to be paying special attention to the software experience more than ever before, and the current delay in the beta is likely due to the need to make a good first impression, so there will be a delay until the bugs are fully worked out.
Additionally, One UI 7 is said to be much better optimized than Google’s Pixel UI, offering smoother animations.
Galaxy S25 Ultra design changes
We’ve been saying it for a while now, but the Galaxy S25 series, the S25 Ultra, is expected to have a new rear camera design, and with the added R-value, the corners are expected to be very slightly bendy, rather than angular, and additional renders have surfaced via Iceunivers.
If you check it out, the border frame seems to be changing to a flat border like the S24 and S24 plus. As for the bezels, it looks like they will be very thin as shown in this render, and according to Iceunivers, the S25 Ultra will have thinner bezels than the iPhone 16 Pro Max, and the phone thickness will be thinner than the iPhone 16 lineup or even the Google Pixel 9 series. The weight is also said to be much lighter than the current iPhone 16 Pro Max and has a unique design.

He also said that he is 100% confident that the Galaxy S25 series will feature 12GB and 16GB of RAM, and it was previously mentioned that the S25 Ultra will feature 16GB of RAM.
