Galaxy S25 and Fold SE latest rumor roundup

Hi, this is Technologytodaynow. Today we’ll continue to bring you the latest news on the Galaxy S25 series, but before we do, let’s talk about the Fold SE.

Galaxy Fold SE and Galaxy S25 Series Update

Galaxy Fold SE Release Schedule

The Galaxy Fold SE was expected to be unveiled around September 25 or 26, but as of late September, it still hasn’t been unveiled. Instead, the Galaxy Tab S10 series and Galaxy S24 FE were unveiled first.

There’s no word yet on when exactly the Fold SE will be released, but the W25 model for the Chinese market is reportedly likely to be released between October 3 and 9. We’ll probably see the Fold SE in South Korea around the same time. Especially since a flip device of the W25 model has been leaked via a Chinese TENNA certification, it seems like the Fold SE is on the verge of launching as well.

S Pen support

While it was previously reported that the Fold SE would support the S Pen, the latest information from IT tipster IceUniverse suggests that the Galaxy Fold SE will not support the S Pen. Presumably, the S Pen is being left out because of the difficulty in finding space for it, but we’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Galaxy S25 Series hardware improvements and changes

There’s also news on the Galaxy S25 series, but first, a quick recap of previous news: the Ultra model has been confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8th Gen chipset through Geekbench 6 benchmark testing in the US and Europe, while the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus models have yet to be benchmarked, we’ve been quoted by Korean media as saying that all models will be powered by Snapdragon’s 4th Gen chipset, regardless of region or country.

Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset

And just like the Snapdragon X Elite chipset in the Galaxy Book 4 Edge, it’s now officially confirmed that the Snapdragon chipset in the Galaxy S25 series has been renamed the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Display enhancements

Galaxy S25 Series hardware improvements and changes

There’s also confirmation on the display panel front, with the S25 Ultra model expected to use an M14 OLED material, an improvement over the M13 organic material panel found on the S24 Ultra. The S25 and S25 Plus, on the other hand, will likely feature the same M13 OLED panel as their predecessors.

So a price hike seems inevitable when the highest-performing display is only available on an ultra, and Ross Young, CEO of DSCC, a display analyst, also noted that the S25 Ultra could see a slight price increase.
