Apple Intelligence update schedule and expected changes

hello. This is Technologytodaynow. Not long ago, Apple CEO Tim Cook personally announced plans to update Apple Intelligence. I’m going to learn more in this post.

Expected Apple Intelligence Updates

Expected Apple Intelligence Updates

Additional updates are needed to implement all the features of Apple Intelligence announced at WWDC, especially support from other languages such as Korean. According to previous rumors, Apple Intelligence and Korean language support are expected to be achieved through an iOS 18.4 version update scheduled for the upcoming spring.
And then there was Apple’s official announcement where that expectation turned into conviction.

Tim Cook’s earnings announcement and Apple Intelligence update schedule

On the 30th, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook held a conference call announcing fourth quarter 2024 earnings. Apple’s iPhone sales in the fourth quarter fell by about 11% compared to last year in China due to the sluggish Chinese market, but as sales increased in other countries, iPhone sales fell by about 1% compared to the fourth quarter of last year, and service sales increased by 13% compared to last year, recording total sales of $124.3 billion in the fourth quarter, up 4% from last year and exceeding market expectations. Tim Cook mentioned that the iPhone 16 series sold better in countries where Apple Intelligence is supported, and that Apple is in talks with the Chinese government to introduce Apple Intelligence to the Chinese market, but no introduction schedule has been set yet.

Additionally, Tim Cook mentioned Apple Intelligence’s update schedule. Through the upcoming April update, the company will begin supporting French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Indian and Singaporean English, Simplified Chinese, and Korean. This is not much different from the expected schedule that was previously rumored, and the Korean language support is expected to come sooner than worried as the company will apply through a third update after supporting U.S. English in October, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and South Africa in December.

Possible release of iPhone 17 Air

Tim Cook also made a statement expressing his expectations for the iPhone 17 Air. During the Q&A session, an investor asked, “Do you think there is still room for innovation in the form factor of the iPhone?” Tim Cook responded that there will be more innovation in the future and that he is very positive about our product pipeline. He emphasized that there are still many innovations left in the smartphone field. The various innovations and various form factors mentioned by Tim Cook seem to foreshadow the iPhone 17 Air, a slim model to be released this year.

Finalize

From this point of view, Apple’s slow rollout of new upgrades or forms of products can be a bit frustrating for consumers, but I think one of its sources of confidence is that there are many cards that have not yet been utilized from a business perspective. For example, on Android smartphones, the area of the vape chamber is considered an important component of specification, but Apple has not yet introduced the vape chamber. It’s really impressive to encourage consumers to choose an iPhone despite having so many cards left available.
