hello. This is Technologytodaynow. As we enter October, interest in Apple’s new products that will be released this month is increasing, and the release information of some products was mentioned through Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman. In this post, we will find out which products will be unveiled at the Apple event in October 2024 and what the release schedule for those products will be.
Expected products and release dates at the October 2024 Apple Event
Product lineup with M4 chipset
The Apple event is expected to unveil a range of products with the M4 chipset.
According to Mark Gurman, the high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros will ship with the M4 Pro and M4 Max chipsets. There will also be a 14-inch MacBook Pro with the regular M4 chipset. The main products are
- M4 MacBook Pro (14-inch, 16-inch)
- Mac mini with M4 and M4 Pro (redesign coming soon)
- Refreshed M4 iMac
- Refreshed iPad mini
The M4 iMac and iPad mini are expected to receive chipset upgrades, color changes, and a fix for the jelly scrolling issue as previously rumored, rather than cosmetic changes, while the Mac mini is expected to receive a new design as previously rumored, given the use of the word “Revamped”. The official release date for these products is Friday, November 1, with announcements expected to take place between October 22 and 29, US time.
Apple new product announcements for the first half of 2025
Not only did Mark Gurman mention this October’s Apple event, but he also mentioned new products that are expected to be released in the first half of 2025. Noteworthy is the M4 MacBook Air (13 inches, 15 inches). In addition, the 4th generation of the iPhone SE and the refreshed iPad Air will be unveiled, with iPhone SE the 4th generation expected to have a similar design to the iPhone 14, while the iPad Air will be available in 11 and 13 inches in refreshed versions.
iPad Air and Magic Keyboard
The refreshed 11- and 13-inch iPad Airs will also launch a new Magic Keyboard dedicated to the Air for the refreshed iPad Air. For reference, the 11- and 13-inch iPad Airs released this year are compatible with the second generation of the existing Magic Keyboard, and the Magic Keyboard with a supported vibration feedback trackpad is still exclusively used on the M4 iPad Pro.
Along with this, AirTag and related accessories will also be released, but there’s no exact release date yet. My personal guess is that we’ll see a separate Apple event in March or April, based on when the iPhone SE 3rd generation was unveiled last time.
