hello. This is Technologytodaynow. Not long ago, a new patent that could be applied to the Apple Watch 11 was leaked, and we’ll learn more about it in this article.
Should Apple Watch 11 take a step closer to ‘glassboard design’?

Apple is known to be the ultimate design of a product that looks like a single glass plate. Aiming at the 20th anniversary iPhone scheduled to be released in 2027, the front of the display is being filled with glass as much as possible to make the bezel invisible. To this end, we are developing a display with curved surfaces on four sides.
Among the products currently on sale, the Apple Watch X, which has curvature in many ways, seems to be the one that is close to Apple’s desired design, but Apple has no intention of making the Apple Watch angled, contrary to rumors in the past, and is expected to improve its current design to move toward the ultimate goal.
Apple Watch Design Patent Leaks Recently Unveiled
Recently, a patent for Apple Watch that Apple filed for WIPO was released through a media outlet called Xpertpick. This patent is for the front display, which now maintains a round corner like the front display cover glass of the Apple Watch.
The difference between this patent and the current Apple Watch is that the display is curved to a rounded corner, making the screen wider. It looks very similar to the Galaxy’s edge display in the past, but the difference from the edge display is that curvature is expected to be applied not only to the left and right, but also to the top, bottom, left, and right.
Possible changes in the digital crown?

If this happens, the visibility is expected to be greatly improved because the bezel on the display is almost gone, and the sense of unity on the display is improved, so I think there is no need to increase the size of the Apple Watch anymore. Also, if the volume can be adjusted by touching the side curvature to raise it up and down, there will be no need to turn the digital crown. I can see that the watch’s drawings in this patent also do not have a digital crown, and if it can be controlled in this way, I think it could be removed altogether.
Will it apply to Apple Watch 11 and later models?
However, I think the possibility would be better because Digital Crown is one of the identities of Apple Watch, which is included in all models from the first generation of Apple Watch to Apple Watch X and Apple Watch Ultra. Even if a patent has been filed, it is unknown whether or not this patent will actually be applied to Apple Watch 11, and even if this patent is applied, it is also uncertain when it will be applied. Nevertheless, it is expected to be the most feasible patent among the patents that have been released so far, and as I mentioned earlier, I think it is close to Apple Watch’s ultimate goal.
