Apple Watch Changes Significantly How Will It Be Different This Year

Hi, this is Technologytodaynow. It’s been reported that Apple is revamping its entire Apple Watch lineup this year. IT media outlet McRumors reported major changes to the Apple Watch, which will be released in the second half of this year, combining the leaked information so far.

Big changes are coming to the Apple Watch

Big changes are coming to the Apple Watch

This year, Apple plans to make its Apple Watch lineup consisting of regular, SE, and ultra models, with display sizes expected to increase by up to 12 percent and larger case sizes. These changes are expected to provide users with larger, cooler screens

Apple Watch SE with larger screen and thinner bezels

Unlike the first and second-generation Apple Watch SE, which inherited the design of the Apple Watch 4 released in 2018, the third-generation Apple Watch SE, which is expected to launch this fall, is expected to adopt the design of the Apple Watch 7 released in 2021 and update it with a larger screen and thinner bezels.

Changes to the general model

The regular Apple Watch is expected to lose the 41mm model and be replaced by a 45mm model. Previously, Apple Watch 1 through 3 were released in 38mm case models, with the case size increasing to 40mm on Apple Watch 4 and 41mm on Apple Watch 7. The Apple Watch has gotten bigger, so it’s likely to offer a larger screen.

Changes to the Ultra model

The 45mm model will grow to 49mm, the exact same size as the Apple Watch Ultra. This change will make the Apple Watch Ultra 49mm model bands very likely to be compatible with the 49mm model of the Apple Watch 10. The Apple Watch 10 is also expected to keep a similar design to its predecessor.

Looking ahead to the next generation of Ultra models

Analysts like DSCC’s Ross Young, Haitong International Securities’ Jeff Fu, and Omdia’s David Hsieh are predicting that the next Apple Watch Ultra model will be larger, with a 2.13-inch display.
However, their claims are tied to the introduction of microLED displays, which has already been canceled, so there’s a chance that this prospect may not materialize. On the other hand, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman offers the opposite opinion, suggesting that there will be no design changes to the Apple Watch Ultra 3rd generation.

New features and chipsets

In addition, the Apple Watch 10 and the next-generation Apple Watch Ultra with the new S10 chip are expected to add the ability to detect high blood pressure and sleep apnea.

So far, we’ve covered some of the expected changes to the Apple Watch lineup and design. While it’s encouraging that the display is getting bigger, it’s a shame that the 41mm model has been removed in favor of a larger size, reducing choice.
