hello. This is Technologytodaynow. The recently released Galaxy S25 series is gaining huge popularity, and I’d like to take a closer look at the news that it is recording all-time sales.
Galaxy S25 pre-orders break record for most ever!

According to a survey by Hana Securities Research that was released not long ago, 12-month sales of the Galaxy S24 series reached 37.17 million units, which is 19 percent higher than the Galaxy S23 series. The figures show that sales, which had fallen sharply in the S20 series, have recovered to the level of the Galaxy S10 series.
Thanks to the sharp improvement in performance and an unexpected price freeze, the pre-launch response of the Galaxy S25 series in Korea is more positive than any other series, and sales are expected to reach more than 40 million units. Thanks to these expectations, the Galaxy S25 series seems to have achieved remarkable pre-booking performance. According to local media reports, the Galaxy S25 series recorded the highest pre-booking sales in the history of the Galaxy S series.
pre-order sales
According to recent media reports, pre-orders for the Galaxy S25 series are reported to be 1.3 million units. This is a new record that exceeds the 1.21 million units of the Galaxy S24 series that was launched last year. However, it should be taken into account that the pre-orders are longer due to the overlap of the Lunar New Year holiday. The S24 lasted for seven days, while the S25 lasted for 11 days.
Galaxy S25 pre-order sales ratio by model
For your information, the Galaxy Note 10 series that received the highest pre-orders among all Galaxy smartphones of all time was the Galaxy Note 10 series that was released in 2019. The sales ratio by model was slightly different compared to the previous Galaxy S24 series. Sales ratio of the S25 series was 52 percent for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, 26 percent for the Galaxy S25 base, and 22 percent for the Galaxy S25 Plus.
Why the actual final sales volume is different than expected
According to previous reports, sales of the Ultra models were expected to range from 60% to 70% on the first day of pre-booking for the Galaxy S25 series, but the actual final sales were lower than expected at 52%. Considering that the Ultra models accounted for 60% of pre-booking for the Galaxy S24 series last year, 52% of the S25 Ultra is a significant drop from last year.
In the previous S24 series, only the Ultra models were equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but in this Galaxy S25 series, not only the Ultra models but also the base and Plus models were equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. So even if the performance difference is caused by the cooling system, there is no difference in performance because they are ostensibly using the same Snapdragon. This seems to have increased the sales weight of the base and Plus models.
Why Plus Model Sales Are Low
In addition, the proportion of the Plus model has decreased to the lowest. In the previous model, the Plus model was equipped with 12GB of RAM and the basic model was equipped with 8GB of RAM, which differentiated it. However, since the RAM capacity of both models is the same now, I think the number of consumers choosing the basic model instead of the Plus model has increased. The sales target of 40 million units is expected to vary depending on sales after pre-orders and response from overseas markets. As mentioned earlier, overseas consumer reactions to the S25 series are somewhat different from domestic ones, so we will have to wait and see what happens in the future.
