hello. This is Technologytoday. Samsung Electronics held the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event at SAP Center in San Jose, California at 10 a.m. on the 22nd (local time).

The unpacked Galaxy S25 Ultra (6.9), Plus (6.7), and regular models (6.2) have been unveiled, and they will be released in global markets sequentially from Feb. 7, and pre-orders will take place from Jan. 24 to Feb. 3 in Korea. We’re going to summarize the specifications of the newly announced Galaxy S25 series.

Galaxy S25 Series Specification Organization

Design and Weight

Galaxy S25 Series Specification Organization

The design of the Galaxy S25 inherits the series’ modern and sophisticated tradition by adopting a consistent appearance with rounded edges in all three models. Thickness and weight are also improved, with the regular model at 70.5 x 146.9 x 7.2 mm, the plus model at 75.8 x 158.4 x 7.3 mm, and the ultra model at 77.6 x 162.8 x 8.2 mm, all 0.4 mm thinner than the previous model.

Weighing 5g less on the regular model, 6g less on the plus model, and 14g on the ultra model, the battery capacity remains the same as the previous model. The plus and ultra models support 45W of fast charging, and the heat dissipation system is further advanced. And the S25 Ultra has a base chamber that is 40 percent larger than the previous model, and all series are said to have introduced an efficient heat dissipation system using new heat conduction materials.

Snapdragon 8 Elite AP

The Galaxy S25 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite AP, which improves NPU performance by 40 percent and CPU and GPU by 37 percent and 30 percent, respectively. The Snapdragon chip is manufactured with a 3-nanometer process, and the image quality is improved by more than 40 percent. It also improves visibility and power efficiency by applying mDNie, Samsung’s image quality improvement technology.

It also supports ray tracing and Vulcan to provide a more immersive gaming experience. The RAM capacity offers 12GB of RAM by default for all models, with the Ultra variant also coming in a 16GB version.

Camera and AI capabilities

The Galaxy S25 Ultra features a quad-camera system, with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera for excellent image quality shooting. Thanks to the next generation of AI-powered pro-visual engines, you can shoot sharp images over long distances. In video mode, you can shoot videos with rich colors by default, with the option of 10-bit HDR, and a new AI image editing feature added as well. In addition, a virtual aperture feature is added to the Expert RAW app, allowing for deep expression like a professional-grade camera.

Generative AI Gemini OneUI7

The series features Google Generative AI Gemini for the first time to improve AI performance. Using more than one app is also easy to run. Clicking the AI button on the right activates the AI agent, which performs the action when the user enters the command as if talking.

OneUI7, the Galaxy’s first integrated AI platform, has been introduced to provide a personalized AI experience by understanding users’ situations and analyzing their tastes at various points of contact, including text, voice, and images. In addition, the newly added ‘Now Brief’ feature provides a customized information briefing by analyzing users’ patterns and data.

While the specifications have not been revealed yet, it is expected to be an ultra-thin smartphone. Experts have been calling the S25 Edge a ‘tentative name;’ among them. While no specific information other than the product name has been revealed yet, overseas IT experts expect the Galaxy S25 Edge to be announced in the upcoming second quarter. According to the leaked information so far, it is expected to be one of the thinnest models of Samsung’s smartphones, with a thickness of around 6.4 mm.

Galaxy S25 Series Price

As previously known, the price of the S25 was released without much difference from the previous model.

  • Regular models: 12GB RAM / 256GB (W1.155 million), 512GB (W1.298 million)
  • Plus models: 12GB RAM / 256GB (W1.353 million), 512GB (W1.496 million)

Galaxy S25 Series Specifications Disappointing

However, there is one thing that is regrettable about this announcement. It is the RAM capacity of the ultra model. With the news that the ultra models released in the U.S. and Europe will have 12GB of RAM, many users are disappointed. It is very regrettable that 12GB of RAM seems to have been confirmed in Korea except for the jet black model that is available in Samsung dotcom and Samsung Gangnam.
