hello. This is Technologytodaynow. There is news that the Galaxy S25 series will be equipped with Exynos 2500 chipset, so we would like to take a closer look.
Galaxy S25 series expected to feature Exynos 2500 chipset
Exynos 2400 performance that didn’t meet expectations
Among the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung Electronics’ own AP, Exynos 2400, which is equipped in the Galaxy S24 base model and the Plus model, seemed to have improved a lot at the beginning of its launch, but other factors were more influential than the performance of the Exynos 2400.
The power efficiency of the Exynos 2400 is reportedly less than the Snapdragon 8 3rd Gen in the Galaxy S24 Ultra or the Snapdragon 8 2nd Gen in the Galaxy S23 series.
These results have inevitably led to a drop in expectations for the next Exynos.
Galaxy S25 Series and Exynos 2500
For these reasons, all Galaxy S25 series models want to feature a Snapdragon chipset, but unfortunately, the Galaxy S25 base and plus models are expected to feature the Exynos 2500. In a conference call, Samsung said it will focus on the Exynos 2500, which is scheduled to launch next year.
During the Q2 earnings call, the company also announced that the industry’s first 3-nanometer SOC for wearables is receiving positive feedback, and that it plans to focus on steadily delivering Exynos 2500 chips to flagship products. The flagship models we’re referring to here are expected to be the Galaxy S25 series.
Camera and display performance on the Galaxy S25
Samsung’s MX division has announced that it will be upgrading the camera and display performance to the best available at the time of the Galaxy S25 series launch. They also mentioned that the AP and memory are also being prepared with industry-leading performance to enhance AI performance and overall premium experience.
The Galaxy S25 series is likely to see an across-the-board upgrade not only in the AP, but also in the camera and display. The regular model is also likely to be upgraded to 12GB of RAM, while the Ultra model will most likely be upgraded to 16GB of RAM. However, it’s important to remember that the top-end performance that the MX division has been talking about may be limited to the Ultra model.
Exynos 2500’s Expected Competitiveness
That’s why it’s likely that only the ultra models will feature Snapdragon as before, while the regular and plus models will feature Exynos. Although the Exynos 2500 is likely to be less performance-wise than its competitors’ APs this time, the Exynos 2500 is an AP produced through a 3-nano second-generation gate-holer round process after the Galaxy Watch 7’s Exynos W1000, so we hope it will be more competitive than the same generation this time.
The Galaxy S25 series is drawing much attention and anticipation to see if it can make a huge leap forward in performance and power efficiency. Attention is focusing on what changes Samsung’s next-generation AP will bring, and what experiences the Galaxy S25 series will bring to consumers.
