hello. This is Technologytodaynow. A sneak peek at the design of the Galaxy Watch 8, which is expected to be released in July of this year, has been released, and we will take a closer look in this article.
Galaxy Watch 8 design, similar to the much-criticized Ultra?

The Galaxy Watch Ultra, the de facto successor to the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro that was launched in July last year, received a lot of criticism. Despite advertising the display of the rectangular Apple Watch when the Galaxy Watch 4 was released, the Galaxy Watch Ultra had a rectangular appearance similar to the Apple Watch Ultra that was launched first.
In addition, since the circular display displays less information than the rectangular display on the smart watch, there were many opinions that it would have been better to apply the rectangular display if you were going to use the rectangular frame. It was reported that the design, which received the most criticism along with the Galaxy Buds 3, will be applied not only to the Galaxy Watch Ultra but also to the Galaxy Watch.
Galaxy Watch 8 Design, Confirmed as Leaked Icon

Through a new report by Android Authority, an icon with a preview of the Galaxy Watch design has been revealed. According to the report, the Galaxy Watch 8 series, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, are expected to be announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event in the second half of the year. As for the information about the upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 series, only very limited information, such as charging speed and communication specifications, has been revealed.
Galaxy Watch 8 Clues in One UI 8 Firmware
However, leaked information about the Galaxy Watch 8 was found in the One UI 8 firmware of the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, with model number SM-L505, which identifies the icons of the development code fresh 8, wise 8, and projectX2.
- “Fresh 8” is Galaxy Watch 8
- “Wise 8” is Galaxy Watch 8 Classic
- “project X2” is Galaxy Watch Ultra
If you check the design shown in this icon, the Ultra model is the same design as the previous model, and the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic have been changed in design.
Galaxy Watch 8 Series, Design Differences by Model
Like the Watch Ultra, it is designed with a circular display of only a rectangular frame. The entire series seems to be shaping a family look based on the Watch Ultra’s design. However, there are some design differences for each model. When you compare the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, the Watch 8 Classic has a bezel-like part that surrounds the display, while the Watch 8 doesn’t exist separately. However, it’s not clear if the bezel ring is rotatable.
And the Galaxy Watch has two physical buttons on the side, and the Watch Classic has a total of three buttons, just like the Watch Ultra, with the addition of a physical button that appears to be a quick button. In contrast, the Watch Ultra separates the buttons with an orange ring, but the Watch Classic is not ring-processed. There are also detailed differences in the thickness of the bezel, etc.
What’s the reason you’re disappointed?
What do you think about the design of this Galaxy Watch 8 series? Personally, there is something I’m disappointed about. The Hakeek design was pretty, and I thought that the design was taking place. On the other hand, I don’t know if the current Watch Ultra design is pretty. I’m sorry that the design that was good for me seems to be discarded and integrated into a bad design. I wonder how it will feel in real life.
