Galaxy Z Fold 7 Display Gets Bigger and clearer

hello. This is Technologytodaynow. In a recent interview with Tim Cook, it was mentioned that the Apple Vision Pro was intended for early adopters rather than bulk sales. This orientation towards consumers who want to experience future technologies in advance is similarly evident in Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. Changes shown in the special edition are expected to be reflected in the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which will be released next year.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 Display Change

According to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultant, the main display size of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will increase from 7.6 inches to 8.0 inches, which is the same as the special edition. Increasing display size is expected to improve the visibility of the main screen and improve the utilization of the cover display. A summary of the benefits of display size enlargement is below.

  • Improved visibility of the main display
  • Increased usability of cover displays
  • Optimized for multitasking and content consumption

Digitizer removal and S Pen change

Ross Young raised the possibility that the digitizer could be removed from the Galaxy Z Fold 7, predicting that the S Pen support could change. Therefore, instead of the traditional Wacom EMR method, there is a possibility that a new AES-style Fold-only stylus pen could appear.
The reason why digitizers are being removed can be summarized as below.

  • To design the device to be thinner
  • Achieving a slimmer and lighter design

Changes expected when AES fans are introduced

If the AES type stylus pen is adopted, the expected changes are as follows.

  • Use of stylus fan requires charging
  • Possibility of introducing side attachment and charging method
  • Expected improvement in portability despite lack of S Pen storage slot

Increased display size of Galaxy Flip 7

The Galaxy Flip 7’s display is expected to expand from 6.7 inches to 6.85 inches.
This is larger than the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and the cover display is also likely to be larger at 4 inches. Therefore, changes in display format are expected to be an important point to watch.

Possibility of change in cover display

Maintain cutout shape along current camera line
Possibility of introducing punch hole method like Motorola Razr 50 Ultra

Conclusion

So far, we’ve seen all the new news about the Galaxy Z Fold 7. If the AES fan is adopted, it will be inconvenient to charge it, but if it’s attached to the side and charged like an iPad, it might be better for an S Pen portable than the current Fold, which does not have an S Pen storage slot. I’m looking forward to seeing if the Galaxy Z Fold 7 inherits the features of the special edition well and can further enhance the user experience.
