Galaxy Z Fold7 battery, unfortunately the capacity is the same

hello. This is Technologytodaynow. Battery information for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 was released a while ago. Let’s take a closer look in this article.

Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 Battery Certification Leaked

Galaxy Z Fold 7 Expected to Improve Performance

Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 Battery Certification Leaked

Samsung’s seventh-generation foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which will be released in July, is rumoured to be 8.2mm thick. However, this doesn’t seem very likely because it’s too thin. Still, as originally rumored, it will be thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, even if it is only released at around 9.5mm. In addition, if a larger display and the Snapdragon 8 Elite are explored, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to make significant improvements.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 without battery performance improvements

However, with one regret, battery performance is unlikely to improve on the Fold 7. According to Indian IT Match The Tech Outlook, the batteries for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 have passed Danish certification.

The batteries mounted on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 are registered in Denmark as DK-163799-UL and DK-163657-UL, and the original model numbers are EB-BF 966AB and EB-BF 967AB. They have capacities of 2,126mAh and 2,146mAh respectively, for a total battery capacity of 4,272mAh. This is the minimum capacity, and the general capacity is expected to be 4,400mAh, the same as the predecessor.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 with Increased Battery Capacity

Here is the battery information of the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The batteries used in the Flip 7 are DK-163399-UL and DK-163928-UL. The original model numbers are EB-BF766ABE and EB-BF767ABE, and they are equipped with batteries of 1,189 mAh and 2,985 mAh respectively, for a total of 4,174 mAh. Again, these are the minimum capacities, and the regular capacity is the same at 4,300 mAh.

Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which remains the same, the Flip 7’s battery capacity has increased. While it is positive that the Flip 7’s battery capacity has increased, it is very disappointing that the Fold 7’s battery capacity has remained the same. If the Fold 7 really has a thickness of 8.2mm and is equipped with a 4,400mAh battery, things will be different. That would be a huge innovation.

an expected forecast

But if it is indeed rumored to be 9.5mm thick and have a 4,400mAh battery, then of course it can be seen as positive that the thickness has been reduced while maintaining the battery capacity. However, the Oppo Find N5, the Fold 7’s biggest competitor among foldable smartphones released this year, boasts a battery capacity of 5,600mAh with a silicon carbon battery in a thickness of 8.9mm. Given the complaints about the Galaxy Fold’s battery life, the lack of an increase in battery capacity and the small difference in battery capacity compared to competing models seem like disappointing weaknesses.

Silicon carbon batteries have disadvantages, but I think they should be introduced someday to compete for specifications, but since Samsung is conservative about the performance of the battery, it will be important when it will be introduced.
