hello. This is Technologytodaynow. News about the design of the iPhone 17 Pro keeps pouring in. Let’s take a look at the latest updates.
iPhone 17 Pro Design Expected to Change Significantly

The iPhone 17 Pro’s anticipated design, which was recently revealed by Front Page Tech, maintains a triangular camera setup similar to the iPhone currently on sale, unlike previously known ones. The design features a large rectangular camera bump that wraps around all of these elements, with LED flash, secondary microphone, and LiDAR sensors on the right.
Front page tech claimed to have confirmed the real life of this design, but personally I don’t think it’s aesthetically appealing and doesn’t complement the practicality of the camera bump. So I think it’s unlikely to actually launch.
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman claims that the iPhone 17 Pro renders posted on YouTube are based on fake sketches, noting that the actual and expected designs are likely to differ.
iPhone 17 Pro Design Changes Possible and Camera Bump

Seeing that there are constant talks about the iPhone 17’s design changes, it seems like it could actually be a possibility. According to news from Digital Chat Station, the iPhone 17 has begun to undergo significant design changes. The new slim iPhone 17 Air reportedly comes with a long camera module in the form of a horizontal bar, and the iPhone 17 Pro will adopt a large horizontal matrix design.
The iPhone 17 is expected to have a single camera on the top left as expected by everyone, and a straight bar-shaped camera bump to minimize clutter when placed on the floor. However, I was wondering what you mean specifically by the large horizontal matrix design. If the design mentioned in the front page tech isn’t the actual design, the iPhone 17 Pro’s expected design is likely to have a camera design similar to the Pixel 9, with the camera at the top.
iPhone 17 Camera Projected Design
However, the description of the large horizontal matrix design seems to imply a larger size than the iPhone 17 Air’s straight-camera pump. Based on rumors so far, it seems likely that there will be a camera placed horizontally like the Pixel 9, but unlike the Air model, the oval camera bumper may be larger than expected, with triple cameras, lidar sensors, LED flash, and secondary microphones. Or, as mentioned on the front page tech, the camera bump could be a significantly expanded design while maintaining the triangular camera arrangement.
When I looked at the exterior design photo of the iPhone 17 Pro that was leaked in December last year, it felt a bit bigger than I expected. Unlike pixels with three cameras on the left and LED flash on the right, if there are three camera lenses located at the top and LED flash and LiDAR sensors underneath them, the camera bump is likely to be bigger than we thought. If you have to keep the triangle shape rather than the horizontally placed camera, this may be the reason to keep the lenses as close as possible to keep them natural when switching lenses. Furthermore, you can also consider that the iPhone 16’s design change is meant to narrow the distance between cameras for spatial video shooting.
Conclusion
For this reason, I think it’s possible to keep the camera positioning in the shape of a triangle. Personally, if I’m asked to choose between two designs, I find the design closer to the Pixel 9 more attractive. The design with the addition of a large camera bump to the triangle is not very attractive because it will be heavy. I still need more information, and if there’s a change, I hope it’s Among Us style. I think there will be a lot of different cases, and I’m very curious about what the final design of the iPhone 17 Pro will be.
