hello. This is Technologytodaynow. The iPhone 17 Slim, which replaces the iPhone Plus model, is expected to be released in 2025 with extreme reductions in thickness and weight to maximize portability, and we’re back with more news about the iPhone 17 Slim.
iPhone 17 Slim Expected Specs
Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong International, reported on the expected specsof the iPhone 17 Slim. The iPhone 17 Slim is expected to have the following specifications
- Display: 6.6 inches
- RAM: 8 GB
- Front camera: 24 MP
- Rear camera: 48 MP single camera
- Security Solutions: Face ID
- Exterior materials: Aluminum
According to Jeff Pu, the iPhone 17 Slim will have an all-new design and a new form factor, and is expected to serve as a replacement for the Plus model.
The price of the iPhone 17 Slim and the likelihood of hitting the expected specifications
When news of the iPhone 17 Slim first broke, there was talk that it would come with a significant reduction in thickness and brawn and be priced higher than the Pro model, but recent information suggests that the iPhone 17 Slim will likely be a more affordable alternative to the Plus model.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo made a similar prediction, stating that it will feature a 6.6-inch display and a single rear-facing camera. With so many experts repeating the same thing over and over again, it seems likely that the actual launch product will be the same as the pre-launch news, so expect it to be somewhere between the iPhone normal and Plus models in size, but at the lightest weight.
A19 Chip and RAM capacity
The iPhone 17 Slim is expected to be equipped with the A19 chip, which is different from the A19 Pro chip installed in the Pro model. However, the disappointing thing is that the Pro model is expected to use 12GB of RAM, but the slim model is likely to stay at 8GB of RAM. Therefore, I think the increase in RAM capacity will only be upgraded after the iPhone 18 Slim.
iPhone 17 Slim portability and refresh rate
One of the main selling points of the iPhone 17 Slim is its portability. However, the availability of 120Hz refresh rate support will also be a big factor in whether or not we buy the 17 Slim, and while the display is likely to feature an LTPO OLED display, which would make 120Hz refresh rate support a distinct possibility, the key variable will be whether or not Apple is willing to make it happen.
