OneUI8’s internal file leaked from the previous article reported that the icon of Samsung Electronics’ next-generation smart watch, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, which will be released along with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Flip 7 at the unpack event in the second half of July. This leaked icon confirms that the design of the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is completely changed.
The rectangular outer frame and circular display design that were introduced on the Galaxy Watch Ultra are expected to be applied to the Galaxy Watch Classic as well. There are expected to be some likes and dislikes in this area. An expected rendering of the design that allows you to see the design in more detail has been revealed.
Galaxy Watch 8 Classic Design Changes and Features
The expected design renders of the Galaxy Watch 8 classic, provided by Onleak, have been revealed by Samsung-related news outlet Sammyguru. The design is almost identical to the design shown in the icon. The display remains circular, but there is a thick, almost square frame around the display. It is almost the same design as the Galaxy Watch Ultra, but it feels a little more streamlined.
Comparison with Watch Ultra and Gear Sports
The difference from the Watch Ultra is that the outer frame is less angled than the Ultra. The Watch 8 Classic doesn’t have a separate scale on the rim, maybe because it’s not an extreme sports model. It has a very similar design to the Watch Ultra, but with the exception of the rug, it has a design that is almost similar to Samsung Gear Sports, which was released in 2017.

The size of this Watch 8 Classic is 46 (mm) X 46.5 (mm) X 14.2mm, and it seems that the thickness has increased significantly compared to the previous model with the addition of an external frame.
If it’s unusual, this model will only be available in a 47mm size. If it’s a little disappointing, the size was bigger, so it was expected that the battery would increase significantly due to the internal space, but the minimum capacity is 425mAh and the normal capacity is 435mAh, which is not much different from the previous model.
Resurrection of Physical Bezeling and Expectations for the Future

I haven’t seen the design of this Galaxy Watch 8 Classic yet, but I’m not sure yet. Of course, there are classic wristwatches with circular bezels on a square frame on the outside, but they are not what we usually think of as classic watches.
