One thing to note is that most of this information came from China. So, those who hope that this design is wrong will hope that the information from the Chinese source is incorrect, but this time, new information about the design of this huge camera bump has come from the United States as well.
Newly released iPhone 17 series design features

Sonny Dickson released a new design drawing for the iPhone 17 series through his Twitter. It has the same design as the already known design, and since the design of the basic iPhone 17 model was changed last year, the vertically arranged dual cameras and the LED flash located to the right of the camera remain the same. The iPhone 17 Air has a single camera placed in the upper left corner, and a straight bar-shaped camera bump with a secondary microphone and LED flash located in the upper right corner.
And the iPhone 17 Pro features a triangular camera on the left, a LiDAR sensor on the right, a secondary microphone, and an LED flash on the right, and a large camera bump that surrounds all of these elements. In particular, it is rumored that the iPhone 17 Pro will be made of aluminum frames instead of titanium, which is difficult to use for carbon neutral marketing because of the high cost of making titanium and difficult to recycle. Therefore, this large camera bump is likely to be made of aluminum instead of glass, just like the camera bump on the M4 iPad Pro.

If this design is adopted, there is one concern. Since the iPhone 17 Air is a slim and lightweight model, I think aluminum would look better on me than the pro model. If the 17 Air is made of aluminum, like the pro model, there will be no distinguishing line at the bottom of the design drawing. If that happens, there may be cases where wireless charging is not supported or Maxafe is not supported similar to the iPhone 16e, and I hope that doesn’t happen.
Conclusion
And even if it uses a full aluminum body, there is a possibility that it will support wireless charging through an ultra-thin plastic coating like the Pixel 5 released in 2020. Even if full aluminum is not used, the iPhone 17 Air is made lightweight, so I think it can remain light enough even if glass is used.
In addition, there is a risk of bending due to the thin thickness, so there is a possibility of choosing glass.
It seems that the expected designs that come out during this period are often similar to the actual designs. Personally, if the design is changed, I think the Among Us style will be better than the current design, so I hope that the information is still incorrect.
